Why are draft products not updated?
Only process published products is on by default and skips products that are not active. Turn it off to include drafts in a task.

The filter Only process published products is on by default. It only lets through products with the Active status, so drafts are skipped and do not use credits.
To prepare drafts before a launch, turn this option off in Configure Product Settings for that task.
