What happens to existing meta tags

RANKit Meta titles & descriptions

RANKit replaces the current SEO title and description of updated products.

When RANKit updates a product, it writes a new meta title and meta description in place of the current ones, including tags you wrote by hand.

How to protect products

  • Leave Skip previously processed products on to avoid redoing products RANKit already updated.
  • Use Specific Products or Specific Collections to leave hand-written products out.
  • Use the vendor filter to target one brand only.

If the AI cannot answer

If the AI request fails, RANKit falls back to the product title (up to 60 characters) and the start of the product description (up to 160 characters). Review results in the task details and run the product again if needed.
